Ellen inspired me to get my Barbie knitting machine out of the box (for the first time since I found it at Goodwill) and give it a whirl. It is amazing -- you can just keep cranking away for the longest time until you have a super-long scarf, or just make little "granny puffs" to make various items like hats, booties, or even afghans.

I think I've decided that I don't just want a long, skinny scarf, so I am going to experiment to see what else I can do with it. :D
