Kyrie! And anvils, too...
Robert Ray's Gospel Mass has got to be one of the more fun pieces I have ever sung in a choir or chorus. We only did the Kyrie tonight, but it was well received, and my little solo (eight words, but important ones :) went well also.
Oh, the anvils? The elementary school children (for whom we sang) also performed a few pieces. The first thing they did was a dramatic "dance act" to Verdi's anvil chorus. They told the story of a day in the life of a construction worker. Let's just say I'll never listen to that piece quite the same way again. :)
By the way, I did even manage to get some knitting done - several rows on those garter stitch baby booties I started on Sunday. It really isn't quite as quick a project as I'd originally thought, but give me a couple more hours and I'll have the first one done.
