Thanks and inspiration
Thanks to everyone who helped commemorate the event - I appreciate all your comments and emails. :D
Yesterday I stopped by my LYS to check out her new stock after coming back from the latest market. So far some of the new yarns have come in, like Alchemy Yarns, in fabulous colors.
The thing that caught my attention the most was a new book, Hip to Crochet. Quite frankly, I was not overly taken with anything in its sister book, Hip to Knit, although that was also a well done book. HtC, on the other hand, has a few things I really want to do. The sock-weight skirt, for example, screams at me to be done in four complementary colorways of Koigu PPPM. The cute little capelet proclaims proudly that it wants the Baby Silk Alpaca I got for Christmas last year. There are even some nice easy projects in there for my crochet students to get ideas from (oh mohair, how you taunt me!). Even if I never get around to making that skirt, many of the other projects will be great inspirations. Yup, gotta have it. :)
