And...finito!
Here's the "professional" photo of the finished rug, in it's final resting place. I haven't yet put the rug gripping tape on the underside of it, but I am going to run it through the wash once first, then place the tape. I might use something else for gripping though, since I am not sure that the gripping tape is washable...and this rug will certainly hit the wash more than once in its lifetime.
For whatever reason, the two blog entries I sent over from my PDA phone never made it - this rug was completed yesterday afternoon, so in plenty of time to qualify for the Ravelympics entry. Now to head over there and post the results. :D

Fits nicely! what sort of grippy are you using, the usual rug-stick mat kinda thing? That's what I was considering if I ever make another bathmat, but I haven't checked into washability yet. Usually cheap enough you could toss it if it moulders I bet though.
I'll vouch for you finishing it in time, I was there. And if you want non-slide mat stuff, I have some that I got from IKEA that you can whack a chunk off of - the sort that you put under rugs on hardwood floors to keep them from sliding around. Lemme know.
I have some 3M rug grip tape that is supposed to adhere to the bottom of one rug so that it doesn't slide on carpet or floor -- but it does not say washable on the box so I might check my as-yet still packed craft boxes for other solutions. IIRC I still have some non-skid sort of stuff to paint on the bottom of slippers that might work as an application here.
