And the knit goes on
In a fit of sheer unlike-me-ness, I organized a bit of my stash today! A friend from work gave me a tower of stackable baskets, and I've gotten quite a bit of my acrylic stash separated out into them. The wool, silk and cotton yarns are for the most part placed into the drawers that I had already. I still need to get additional drawers or baskets, though - there are still almost two computer boxes worth of yarn and gadgets to organize.
Since I came home from practice early (I stayed for handbells but my throat was a bit too tired to sing), I decided to get a little knitting done. Unfortunately, the piece I wanted to work on was in the car -- and it was raining outside. Cold and wet - and me in my comfy inside clothes already. Since I have a nice and easily viewable stash all of a sudden, I grabbed a skein and cast on my knitting machine for a shawl made from the Magic Scarf pattern. In under an hour, I've knit up the length I want for the shawl (actually about 1/2 to 2/3rds the finished length), and later this week I'll cast off and finish up the top edge. I was toying with the idea of making it even longer, but I don't want to deal with adding in another skein. Besides, my drawer of partially used skeins of yarn needs serious work - at the very least I need to get out my ball winder.
Tomorrow is First Thursday!!! :D
