Frohliche Neues Jahr!
Well, I've been glancing through my 2007 archives to see what I did this past year. Some efforts were successful, some less so.
My resolutions for 2007 were: lose 10 lbs (I did, but it has yo-yo'd a bit, so I think I am officially 8 lbs total down for the year); 10 min of yoga/stretching a day (haven't always kept to this, but I do try to do my stretches regularly and I've been getting in more physical activity overall); and take at least one photo a day. Well, I was good about the photo a day for several months, but it got to be a handful. I have definitely taken more than 365 photos this year, so take of that what you can. For 2008 my resolutions are much less concrete, and mainly revolve around getting my weight and my clutter under control. We'll see how it goes, but it's off to a promising start so far.
So, here are my highlights of 2007 --
January:
- Photodocumented most of the GuitarTown Austin sculptures (this project lasted through November)
- Started and mostly finished Drops 39 crocheted flower hat in Road to China
February:
- finished the Road to China hat
- Looking back I can see that I am probably about 90% recovered from the herniated disc. Feb and January were apparently pretty hard months to get through.
- Won best tasting chili for my fabulous Steak and Salsa chili. I need to remember to email the recipe to V's mom.
- Finished Sergio's rainbow scarf.
- Finished the purple muppet scarf.
- Started and finished baby hat for Renee.
- Started a baby blanket.
March:
- Started treatments at a new chiropractor. I still use him, and I think he's fabulous!
- Met quite a few bloggers through a party at HCW -- so hi, gang! :D
- Discovered that my point-n-shoot Stylus 710 is beer proof
- Found out that Jay had passed away. :( Performed at his funeral by his family's request (with small TCC group).
- Attended my first rehearsal for my first engagement with Conspirare.
April:
- Sang for Amanda's wedding
- Started feather and fan afghan for wedding present
May:
- Performed in "Love is in the Air" concert for TCC
- Bought a new car!
- Discovered that Celebrex is a Good Thing (tm).
- Finished baby blanket for Jeannette.
June:
- Started net stitch shawl from Madeline Tosh.
- Discovered the possibility (and later reality) of PCOS. Sigh.
- Sang with Conspirare for the Victoria Bach Festival.
July:
- Finished my net stitch shawl.
August:
- Started and completed some beaded wire bracelets for a class I taught.
- Started a baby blanket from Berocco Comfort.
- Won Best in Show for Crochet thread for my net stitch shawl at the Gillespie County Fair!!
September:
- Got truly sucked into reality TV for the first time for Big Brother 8. Argh.
- Two new yarn shops opened in town!
- Hit 1000 posts on my blog.
October:
- Attended the first annual Hill Country Yarn Crawl
- knit a lot but apparently didn't finish anything...well maybe the BSS but I didn't blog it
November:
- Participated (successfully!) in NaBloPoMo
- Started and finished Isis scarf from French Girl
- Started and finished pinafore for Tony and Alisa
- Got hooked on Guitar Hero and Rock band
- finished the Comfort baby blanket
- made a *lot* of crocheted hats for presents
- Got a Habu kit for myself, must be on crack.
December:
- started and frogged hat for E at least five times. I think I finally have the right pattern for it but I need to DO it already!
- Lots of concerts (lots and LOTS of concerts).
- Visited friends and had a nice long holiday...
Now it is 2008 - I will try to be better about blogging my projects, but we'll see... :D
