Mental Note*
*Still a little too chilly in the evenings to walk to the store in just a sleeveless top and capris. Though I know I shouldn't complain...seriously - 75 degrees in February? What happened to my ice days this year? Ah well.
The walk was to return a couple movies to the rental box before midnight - just finished License to Wed. While I must say that I don't necessarily approve of the unorthodox methods of relationship counseling employed (not to mention the complete lack of well, faith), I did find it a funny bit of fluff. 3 out of 5 stars. Eh, I like Robin Williams. At the very least, it gave me the chance to resurrect a UFO --- the afghan for Amanda, which has been languishing for a few months, only about 1/3rd finished. I think I made a mistake deciding to knit it - even though it is two strands, it still seems to be taking a very long time. I'm going to try to knit on it every night this week - even if it is only a row a night. Wednesday might be hard since I'll be out at the Long Center, but I think we're starting later than we were originally scheduled to so I can probably stop at home first instead of heading downtown straightaway.
Last night I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I honestly don't believe it took me so long to get around to watching it -- true, it was a 2007 release, but it was one I had plans to see in the theater (and then the discount theater, and then the dollar theater...), but the plans kept falling through. Watching it on DVD was worth it -- I was able to go back to a couple parts that totally would have left me scratching my head in the theater, and then check the IMDB listings for actors immediately when I wanted to see who was playing a part. Ah, the interwebs always satisfies.
Ironically enough, there is a tie between the two movies I mention above, although IMDB does not yet list it. In the additional scenes for LtW, Mandy Moore has a bachelorette party. Guess who appears as her erstwhile stripper? It appears to be Orlando Bloom - granted, he is wearing a mask, so I could be mistaken....
