Recipe for One

Got this from a friend (and if anyone knows the original attribution I'd be happy to link back to them - otherwise it is a gift of the interwebs because I see it on far too many blogs to know who wrote it):

3 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour (plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to share!)

NOTE: Here's another version; this one uses self-rising flour and the comments have variations.

Cake Flour != Self Rising Flour though!! I'm scrolling through to find a self-rising recipe, but I think the added salt and baking powder in the SRFlour would make it a microwave mess... Cake flour is just a softer flour, different gluten levels from bread or AP flour.

Hrm - okay then, thought I read something that the two were the same. :D Thanks for pointing that out. I've only ever come across one recipe calling for cake flour specifically and that was a long loooooooong time ago. Been a while since I've baked on a regular basis.
