A lot can be said for a good salad

It's been a very good day. Heck, except for those pesky daylight hours at work, it's been a pretty decent week. Truthfully work isn't so bad, just a bit...boring these days. That looks to be changing soon, so perhaps I ought to hold my tongue. :D

As of this afternoon I am mostly finished with two quick pinafores for Bekky's baby - she was born much smaller than I expected and B says she hasn't much clothes until she grows, so I offered to whip a couple of those out. One of them was done on Thursday night, and the other I finished up this afternoon.

I've also been working on the hot cross beret for E - it looks to be coming along nicely, but working in black is never easy in dark coffeehouses. :D That I need to work on more at home where I have better lighting. If I focus on it (instead of on, say videogames) in my evenings at home this week it should be done in the next few days, I think.

Oh, and about that salad: sometimes inspiration strikes -- I had to run to the grocery store to get a couple things and in the seafood section found new singles of imitation crab. I will say that I happen to love this stuff, although I rarely buy it because the packages are just too large for me to go through. Singles, on the other hand, are perfect! I initially was going to make a quick pasta salad with it, but didn't really feel like cooking, so I tossed it with some grape tomatoes and fresh mozzerella, with just a tiny bit of ranch dressing, and voila! A super quick salad that tastes great and didn't require a whole lot of work on my part. I may have to take one of these to work for lunch one day this week.
