Just because, a meme

As seen at Ma Hatfield's blog:

"It’s been alleged that if you’ve seen over 85 movies you have no life. Mark the ones you’ve seen. There are 239 films on this list. Copy this list, go to your own blog, paste it in and put x’s by the ones that you have seen. Add them up, figure out whether you’ve got a life or not, and post it."

---

Looks like I've seen just under half of the 238 movies above (about 112). Now, considering that I sing in two choruses, knit with friends usually once or twice a week, am active in my church, etc. I would argue that not only do I have a life but that I manage to cram quite a lot into it. With that disclaimer, though, I have to admit I own around 400 movies, which usually make it into rotation when I am on the computer some evenings.

A Hit, a Very Palpable Hit!

Seen over at Maglia (and tagged en masse... :D ) --
    Six Weird Things About Me:
  1. My inner CD player gets stuck on audible. I can take just about anything someone says and connect it to a song lyric, then start singing that song, often without purposefully trying to do so.

  2. While I do not have an eidetic memory, I do tend to memorize phrases from movies or plays and lyrics to songs - even after one hearing. This contributes to #1 above.

  3. I can put almost any baby to sleep in five minutes. It's all in the way you move when you rock the baby (and it helps if you can sing soft lullabies). Just call me Aunt Singing Pillow.

  4. I walk on my toes. This is something I was never "broken" of as a child, and now it means I have tight hamstrings, but I have an excellent sense of balance.

  5. Time is my obsession. Sort of. Of all my friends and acquaintances, I know of only one other person who gets places (meetings, parties, gatherings, whatever) early like I do. I cannot stand to be late, even if being late is fashionable. It drives me crazy when I don't have a watch or clock to check for the time, even when the time doesn't matter.

  6. I'm not allergic to anything. While this seems more like a blessing than a "weird thing," consider that I still sneeze on a regular basis, and there is no real reason. I've worked with one of the best allergists in the state and we've yet to find a cause. On a side note, this non-allergy does not apparently prevent me from having a sensitivity to harsh scents, cigarette smoke, and mohair. According to the allergist, those are irritants and could set anyone off.

So, there you have it, my own personal oddities. I'd tag someone else specifically, but since I don't know who may have already done it, I'll leave the door open - if you want to meme-along, go for it!

A spanking, a spanking!

Well, actually - it's a meme. :D Made you look!

Instructions -- Copy the first sentence that you posted in each month of 2006 (seen all over blogland, but snagged from Delia).

January 2006
"Legend has it that whatever you do on the first day of the year will be what you do the most of all year long."

February 2006
"How did another month go by so fast?"

March 2006
"Wow, how did Ash Wednesday get here so fast?"

April 2006
"I watch very little television these days, so imagine my surprise when catching a five minute glimpse of The King of Queens to see Peter Tork as the wedding MC."

May 2006
"Just a shout out to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my older sis."

June 2006
"While I wait for a plumber (long story *sigh*) I've been thinking about the practice of yoga, and its possible disagreements with Christianity."

July 2006
"In just a few we'll be on the road again, off to Bath."

August 2006
"Look at me: it's still early in the evening and I've already done the dishes and the laundry, gotten some errands run, done a little extra housework, and made dinner."

September 2006
"Blinking memory card failed and lost part of my 26 Things pics."

October 2006
"Now I just need to figure out where the boys are."

November 2006
"Just posting an update - sorry I haven't posted in a couple days and thanks to those of you who dropped a line or comment checking up on me."

December 2006
"Well, I managed to post almost a post a day in November - not that I was really participating in NaBloPoMo, or that anyone was really counting, I think."

So, the beginning of the year was characterized by my being amazed at the speed of time, in the middle of the year I got to go to Great Britain for a couple weeks, and the rest of the year has been mostly...well, a bit boring. :D
